"Mission San Juan Bautista is a unique and authentic part of our state’s and our nation’s heritage, and it is also an essential community resource. It is up to us to restore and preserve it as a legacy for present and future generations."

“When we celebrate Mass at our Mission, we are continuing the spiritual life of the Catholic Church which began here in 1797. Our Mission is a holy place and all who wish to become closer to God are welcome here.”

A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESERVATION FUND PRESIDENT
I hope you will join me in becoming a “stakeholder” in our mission to save Mission San Juan Bautista.
Our website has important information about the Mission’s significance and the threats to its survival. However, I want to share a statement about the Mission from Peggy Neubauer, a fellow member of the Mission San Juan Bautista Preservation Fund Board of Directors. I think it truly exemplifies the Fund's inspiration and why we are so committed to this effort.
“Mission San Juan Bautista is more than just a mission, church, or building. It is the heart and soul of one of the last small agricultural towns in California. It is a living tribute to all the lives, families, and people who have come before us and who will come after us.
It is a place of endearment for so many couples married here or had their children baptized in her waters and for countless visitors and young students who have come and walked in her hallways, wondered at her art, and played in her plaza.”
Since the present Mission San Juan Bautista was built, each generation, whether near or far, has accepted the responsibility for restoring and preserving it as good stewards of our heritage. Now it is our turn.
Please join us!
